Below is a list of Dr. B’s top 5 skin treatments that are minimally invasive, require no downtime, and produce the most impactful, dramatic results.

 

Dermaplaning

 

Dermaplaning is basically a comprehensive exfoliation treatment that gently removes dead skin cells, surface impurities, and peach fuzz, by “shaving them off” using a surgical blade.  This procedure triggers collagen production and exposes a fresh new layer of skin cells, producing a clean and ultra-smooth finish.

 

Dermaplaning is widely used among celebrities who have to put their best face forward in front of film and TV cameras. Dermaplaning treatments remove surface imperfections from the skin’s outer layer, and improve conditions such as:

 

  • Acne scars
  • Aging skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Freckles and sun spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Peach fuzz

 

Dermaplaning also improves the skin’s ability to absorb skin care products, and imparts a smooth, clear finish to the facial skin, preparing the perfect canvas for makeup!

Exilis

 

The BTL Exilis® skin tightening treatment is the first to combine ultrasound and radiofrequency (RF) energy to tighten skin. In fact, the Exilis® system actually reduced skin laxity by 35%, reduced lines and wrinkles by 42%, and reduced photodamage by 33%, in study participants who underwent the treatment as part of a 2014 clinical study published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology.

Venus Viva Nanofractional RF Skin Resurfacing treatments achieve dramatic results with minimal down time. Venus Viva treatments are effective at treating the following conditions:

Unlike other laser treatments, Venus Viva is safe for all skin types.

 

Treatment sessions are quick and comfortable, and you may address various skin conditions at once with Venus Viva.  During the treatment, you may feel miniscule skin perforations followed by a gentle zapping, and then a warming sensation similar to a sunburn.

 

The treatment may leave your skin red and tender, but these effects resolve themselves within a day, and in some cases, the outermost layer of skin may flake and peel for a few days, as it does when you get a sunburn.

 

After 24 hours, you may resume your regular skin care and makeup routine, but you must avoid sun exposure completely during the few days that your skin is healing from the procedure. Make sure to use an effective sun protection product with an SPF of 30 or higher every time you go outdoors after any skin resurfacing treatment.

Chemical Peels by Glytone

Each peel takes about 20 minutes to apply, depending on the type of peel and number of layers required. During the procedure, you may experience a mild tingling, itching, or warming sensation.

 

Immediately following the peel, you must wait a minimum of 2 hours before using water on your face, and avoid touching or picking at the skin, as well as any use of skin care products, while the skin heals.

 

It is normal for the skin to feel tight for about 3 to 14 days following the peel, and you may experience flaking and peeling. You may resume your normal skin care routine once the skin heals.

 

Following a chemical peel, it is imperative that you avoid sun exposure by wearing protective clothing and using a powerful sunscreen.  Also avoid the use of facial scrubs, exfoliants, or abrasives, and products containing retinoids, as well as alpha or beta hydroxy acids (AHAs and/or BHAs) until the skin has fully healed.

 

Microneedling with Evo

Eclipse MicroPen® EVO treats the following conditions:

EVO treatments are performed using a sterile cartridge with tiny micro-points that is used to apply gentle pressure to the skin. The sensation is comparable to that of fine sandpaper rubbing against the skin, but the speed at which the device rotates diminishes any discomfort. Most micro-needling sessions take less than 30 minutes to complete.

 

You may experience some redness in the treatment area for two to four days following your treatment, although many patients experience complete healing within 24 hours.

 

EVO treatments produce a visible “glow” to the skin immediately after the treatment, with continued improvements developing over several weeks as the treatment triggers increased collagen production. In many patients, improvements may continue for up to six months after treatment. This treatment can be combined with PRP therapy, or in other words Vampire Facial.

 

While patients with problems such as severe acne or hyperpigmentation may require a series of six to eight treatment sessions spaced six weeks apart, some patients only require two to three treatments, while others may only require one yearly treatment to maintain optimal results.
