Choosing the Right Injectable Treatment
If you’re looking for a quick, minimally invasive, and easily affordable rejuvenation treatment, injectable treatment may be your ideal solution! Injectables treat and improve such conditions as sunken cheeks, wrinkles, folds, creases, sagging skin, fine lines, and lips that have become thin, undefined, and brittle. Dermal fillers come in various formulas, to address specific problems and/or specific areas of the face or body.
Whether you want to eliminate laugh lines, add fullness to your cheeks or lips, or banish a bothersome double chin, you can achieve the results you seek easily and quickly with a dermal filler treatment.
Depending on your goals, skin condition, and the areas you wish to improve, you may choose from safest and most effective injectable treatments on the market today, including such formulas as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Juvederm XC, Voluma, Volbella, Vollure, RHA, Restylane, Radiesse, Sculptra, and Kybella.
You may also combine several dermal fillers, or add an injectable treatment to any other procedure, such as liposuction or facial surgery, for a more dramatic, comprehensive makeover.
What to Expect From an Injectable Treatment
Injectables are delivered directly into skin tissue through a fine-gauge needle. In most cases, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area to ensure your total comfort. You may experience a mild stinging sensation during the procedure, or minor soreness after your treatment, but dermal injections require no downtime, and you may resume your regular activities as soon as you leave our office!
Depending on which treatment you select, your results may last for weeks, months, and in some cases, up to two years!
How long before fillers settle in?
For most fillers, it can take about 2 weeks to achieve their final appearance. After 2 weeks, you can return for a follow up visit and discuss with your injector if you would like additional
How do I take care of my face after fillers?
It’s best to avoid touching your face after getting fillers. Hold an ice pack to minimize swelling and bruising. Do not do any strenuous activity or drink alcohol for the first 24 hours after receiving an injection. Make sure to also avoid hot environments like showers, baths, or saunas. Finally, avoid harsh skin products and keep the area protected with SPF 30+.
Should you massage lumps after fillers?
Massaging filler lumps can sometimes help break down the product but it’s best to consult your injector first. Massaging your filler area can also compromise your results if done too early.
How can I prepare for my cosmetic injectables?
Make sure to avoid taking blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen or naproxen, as well as supplements like fish oil for at least one week ahead of your appointment. This can prevent the chance of bruising. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. It is also recommended not getting injections a week before and during your menstruation, as the skin usually becomes more sensitive to the touch, hence make you feel a bit more uncomfortable.
Can I shower after receiving cosmetic injectables?
You can shower after your appointment but avoid hot temperatures and scrubbing the treatment area too hard.
