What is the PRP Facelift?
The PRP Facelift is a minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, derived from your own blood to support healthier, firmer, and more refreshed-looking skin. PRP contains growth factors that help stimulate the skin’s natural repair process, support collagen production, and improve overall skin quality. When injected into targeted areas of the face, PRP can help enhance skin texture, improve radiance, and create a subtle boost in firmness and volume.
During treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and processed to separate the platelet-rich plasma. The PRP is then carefully injected into specific areas of the face using a fine needle, similar to the technique used for dermal filler injections. A PRP Facelift may be used to address early signs of aging, dull skin, mild volume loss, fine lines, and overall skin rejuvenation. Treatment time usually takes about 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the number of areas being treated and your personalized treatment plan.
The PRP Facelift Procedure
The PRP Facelift procedure is a minimally invasive treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma from your own blood to support natural skin rejuvenation. The process begins with a small blood draw, similar to a routine lab test. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, where it is spun at high speed to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other blood components.
Once the PRP is prepared, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment areas to help minimize discomfort. The platelet-rich plasma, which contains growth factors that support collagen production and tissue repair, is then carefully injected into targeted areas of the face. These injections help stimulate the body’s natural healing response, improve skin quality, and support a firmer, smoother, more refreshed appearance over time.
Treatment areas may vary depending on your goals, but PRP is commonly used to improve fine lines, dullness, mild volume loss, uneven texture, and overall skin radiance. The procedure is typically completed in about 30 minutes to one hour, with little to no downtime for most patients.
Recovery After PRP Facelift
There is no required downtime after a Platelet-Rich Plasma Face Lift. You may notice mild tenderness and soreness immediately after your procedure, resembling a sunburn. In some cases, mild bruising may also appear following treatment, and the skin may feel rough and swollen the next day. Swelling and soreness typically disappear within three days, but your skin may still feel somewhat rough for up to a week. While these symptoms may be mildly irritating, you will not need to take time off work and may enjoy a regular day after your treatment session. A light application of makeup will conceal any temporary side effects until they subside naturally.
Platelet-Rich Plasma Facelift Results
While you may notice subtle improvement immediately, you will begin to see more dramatic results after a few more days. The most appreciable difference will be noticeable after two to three months when you will enjoy bright, radiant skin that is firmer and smoother to the touch.
Most patients require three treatment sessions scheduled monthly to achieve maximum improvement; however, one treatment may be sufficient in younger patients with good skin elasticity to provide enhancements for up to two years.
