Benefits of Chemical Peels
Exfoliate, renew, and refresh your complexion with a customized peel.
Chemical peels offer a versatile way to refresh and improve the skin without surgery. Depending on the type and depth of the peel, treatment can help exfoliate dead skin cells, unclog pores, brighten uneven tone, soften fine lines, and improve the appearance of acne, sun damage, and discoloration. A customized chemical peel can also support smoother texture and a more radiant complexion, making it a popular option for patients who want healthier-looking skin with minimal downtime.
By removing buildup from the surface of the skin, chemical peels can reveal a smoother, brighter, more even-looking complexion. Many professional peels also include active ingredients selected to target specific concerns, such as excess oil, breakouts, pigmentation, or visible signs of aging.
With a customized chemical peel treatment plan in Houston, patients can support clearer, healthier-looking skin and maintain a refreshed glow over time.
Types of Chemical Peels We Offer
Improve tone, texture, and clarity with a customized chemical peel.
At Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa, we use a variety of chemical peels to treat different skin conditions and provide personalized treatments for each of our patients. Chemical peels are recommended for you based on your skin type and condition, as well as your unique concerns. We offer trusted professional peel systems, including VI Peel®, Glytone®, SkinBetter®, and ZO® Skin Health, to address a range of skin concerns.
VI Peel®
VI Peel® provides a variety of formulas to treat aging skin, more advanced aging skin, acne-prone skin, acne scars, age spots, hyperpigmentation, and surface skin damage. Developed by one of the world’s leading cosmetic scientists, VI Peels are among the most respected skincare treatments in the field.
Glytone® Pyruvic Peel
The Glytone Pyruvic acid peel is a revitalizing peel that is ideal for acne-prone skin while also diminishing the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and photodamage, along with other premature signs of aging. It also encourages cell turnover, tightens pores, brightens the skin, and enhances skin clarity, while clearing away minor surface flaws and imperfections.
Glycolic Peels
Glycolic peels are mild, superficial chemical peels that gently exfoliate the outer layer of skin to improve dullness, rough texture, clogged pores, and uneven tone. These peels are often used as part of an ongoing skin maintenance plan to help keep the complexion bright, smooth, and refreshed.
Salicylic Acid Peels
Salicylic acid peels are similar to Glycolic acid peels and provide a gentle exfoliation of the skin, removing surface impurities and imperfections. Salicylic acid peels are effective for treating mild discoloration and sunspots, freckles, blemishes, and acne scars.
ZO® Controlled Depth Peel
The ZO® Skin Health Controlled Depth Peel is known as the Nonsurgical Facelift Chemical Peel. An intensive Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) peel, the ZO® Controlled Depth Peel rejuvenates and improves skin conditions such as irregular pigmentation, lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and enlarged pores while boosting hydration and improving elasticity through increased collagen production.
Trichloroacetic Acid Peels
TCA peels are effective for treating lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone, age and sun spots, acne blemishes and scars, and are useful for treating enlarged pores and even removing pre-cancerous skin lesions.
Phenol and Croton Oil Peel
Phenol and croton oil peels are deep chemical peels, performed under mild anesthesia, which represent the gold standard in chemical skin rejuvenation. These peels remove wrinkles, age, and sunspots, restore an even tone to sun-damaged skin and improve mild scarring while triggering the production of collagen to help heal and nourish the skin. Deep peels may produce as much as 25-30% tightening of the facial skin as a consequence of collagen production. These deeper peels may take 8–14 days to peel and reveal a new layer of smoother, clearer-looking skin.
What to Expect After a Chemical Peel
Our team offers a range of light, medium, and advanced chemical peels to target different skin concerns, from acne and dullness to pigmentation, texture, and signs of aging.
After a chemical peel, the skin may feel warm, tight, dry, or mildly sensitive. Depending on the type and strength of the peel, you may experience light flaking or more visible peeling over the next several days as older surface skin sheds and fresher-looking skin is revealed.
It is important not to pick, scrub, or pull at peeling skin, as this can cause irritation and interfere with healing. Instead, allow the skin to shed naturally and follow your recommended post-treatment skincare instructions.
Use gentle, hydrating products and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to protect the newly refreshed skin from sun exposure. Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, harsh active ingredients, and direct sun until your provider advises that it is safe to resume them.
Downtime and peeling vary by peel type, skin sensitivity, and treatment depth. Your provider will explain what to expect and recommend the appropriate aftercare for your specific chemical peel.
Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa is located 36 minutes from Katy and 27 minutes from Pasadena.
