RF Skin Resurfacing
SPF Sun Protection
Frequently we see patients at our Houston area practice who come in with Rosacea, a condition consisting of dilated blood vessels, which typically appears on the face, generally along the cheeks and mid-face region, and other related conditions. These conditions, characterized by an excess of blood flow to blood vessels in the treatment site, include the following:
- Dilated blood vessels anywhere on the face or body
- Red spots on the face and body
- Cherry angiomas
- Dilated blood vessels around nose
IPL Photofacial (Photorejuvenation)
The IPL Photofacial is excellent for treating conditions of dilated blood vessels on the skin’s surface, using intense pulsating light beams to lift away the skin’s outermost layer, which also removes surface marks and imperfections. The treatment also produces increased collagen production, which results in a gradual improvement of the facial tone and texture that continues for several weeks after the initial treatment.
Nanofractional RF Skin Resurfacing
This treatment performed using the Venus Viva™ system employs advanced radiofrequency technology to gently lift away the outermost layer of the skin and any imperfections that it contains. RF Skin Resurfacing also promotes increased collagen production, which means that you’ll see a continual improvement in your skin’s overall tone and firmness in the weeks following treatment.
Chemical peels are a gentle and effective way to peel away surface skin imperfections such as patches of Rosacea and other collapsed or dilated blood vessels in the skin.
Microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation treatment that scrapes away the skin’s surface layer using a very precise scraping instrument, encouraging increased collagen production, and exposing the growth of new, healthy skin cells. Microdermabrasion treatment improves the skin’s tone and texture, enhancing smoothness and imparting radiance.
SPF Sun Protection
We make it a point to educate all our patients after any skin resurfacing treatment or chemical peel to teach them the importance of protecting their skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays as effectively as possible.
We take pride in providing for our patients a line of professional pharmaceutical-grade skin care products, including sunscreen and sun protection products to protect your skin from damage while undergoing treatment for conditions such as rosacea and dilated blood vessels that make your skin more vulnerable to photodamage.
What is the main cause of rosacea?
While the exact cause of rosacea is not known, there are many factors that are thought to play a part. These include abnormalities in the blood vessels in the face, an overactive immune system, heredity, environmental factors, or a combination of these. Rosacea is not contagious.
Is rosacea a serious problem?
Rosacea is a common skin condition that mainly affects the face. This condition is not yet fully understood, but it may be a serious medical condition for some. Many people with untreated rosacea are stressed about their condition and find that rosacea diminishes their quality of life.
Who is most likely to get rosacea?
Anyone can have rosacea, but it is most common among middle-aged and older adults. Women are also a bit more likely to get rosacea than men. People with fair skin may also be at a higher risk.
What should I wash my face with if I have rosacea?
Individuals with rosacea should wash their face with a gentle cleanser. There are certain cleansers that are on the market today that are made specifically for sensitive skin. Be sure to avoid cleansers and skincare products that contain harsh ingredients such as alcohol, fragrance, menthol, sodium laurel sulfate, and more. Ask our Medical Aestheticians here at Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa for their professional recommendations.
Can I treat rosacea myself?
People with mild rosacea may be able to care for their rosacea on their own at home for some time. Common at-home treatments include cleansing your face with a gentle cleanser, moisturizing every day, using sunscreen when outdoors, and avoiding skincare products that contain fragrance. Some people find that applying aloe vera or oatmeal to their rosacea is also helpful, however, you should seek out the advice of our board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Olga Bachilo for optimal care.
