Reshape and restore your feminine form with labiaplasty procedure!
Female genital rejuvenation surgery has become more prevalent in recent years. There is more awareness of procedures available and women are now seeking these procedures. Older women chose to undergo a feminine rejuvenation procedure due to changes that happen with aging and childbirth, and younger women seek procedures due to correct congenital differences that may cause them discomfort and makes them feel less attractive.
Do you suffer from protruding labia that causes pain and chafing with activity? If you are a woman who experiences uncomfortable symptoms caused by having protruding and large inner lips (labia minora) or someone who wishes to revive her youthful-looking labia, feminine rejuvenation procedure can help you achieve these results. Labial rejuvenation can address issues with labia minora (inner lips), clitoral hood, labia majora (outer lips), and mons pubis. Consult with Dr. Bachilo and learn how she can help alleviate your pain that may be caused by exercising and sex and create more symmetrical and attractive anatomy.
What Are the Options for Feminine Rejuvenation?
Labia Minora Reduction
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes labia minora (inner lips) that may have been altered and stretched due to aging, weight loss, during the natural process of vaginal birth or maybe asymmetrical or large from birth. Women with these changes may experience pain and discomfort when wearing tight clothing, exercising as well as during sexual intercourse.
Clitoral Hood Reduction
Enlarged clitoral hooding may be reduced through trimming procedure to decrease bulging and to improve the appearance of this area.
Labia Majora Rejuvenation
With aging and weight loss, labia majora (outer lips) may become deflated and wrinkled or develop excess skin. Thus it may need to be surgically corrected. If there is excess skin and labia majora is enlarged, it can be reduced surgically. Fat grafting may be performed to correct fat atrophy and deflation of labia majora.
Mons Pubis Rejuvenation
The mons pubis (fat pad above the pubic bone) may become thin and saggy with aging or weight loss. Lifting procedures may be performed to address these problems and fat grafting may restore it to a more youthful appearance. If mons is too large and puffy, liposuction or direct reduction can be done.

How Is Labial Rejuvenation Performed?
Labial rejuvenation procedures may be performed under local anesthesia in an office or in an outpatient surgery center under general or local anesthesia. The procedure length is 1 to 2 hours. All incisions are closed with absorbable sutures. Patients go home after a short time in the recovery room.
There are two most commonly used techniques to perform a labiaplasty: the wedge method and the trim method. With the wedge method, a wedge of labia is resected to shorten it and create more attractive anatomy. Dr. Bachilo prefers the wedge labiaplasty in most cases as it results in a shorter and more inconspicuous scar. Trim labiaplasty is sometimes utilized and with this method excess tissue is excised along the edge of the labia.
Fat grafting to the labia majora or mons pubis may be combined with labiaplasty. A small amount of fat is removed from the abdomen via liposuction and is injected into the labia majora or mons pubis.
Alternatively, the surgical reduction of labia majora or mons pubis may be done during the same operation.
What to Expect During Labiaplasty Recovery?
You will be given written instructions on post-operative care. You will be instructed on hygiene maintenance and will be given prescriptions for pain medication and a topical pain-relieving spray. When you go home you may use ice for swelling and pain as needed. Pain is usually mild. Sutures do not need to be removed as they are all absorbable. Due to great vascularity to this area of the body, healing is rapid and with minimal scarring. Discomfort and swelling resolve within a week and most patients are able to return to work. At 4 weeks most of the healing is complete and you may return to all normal activities including exercising and sexual intercourse.
What Results Should I Expect From Labiaplasty?
Dr. Bachilo will go over your expected results prior to your procedure. After genital rejuvenation, our patients report being more comfortable in clothing and report relief from their previous discomfort. They report being less self-conscious in the bedroom and report having confidence in their new look.
