Most often neck lift is performed as an outpatient procedure in a surgical center under general anesthesia. If several procedures are combined, you may be offered to stay overnight at the hospital. Incisions are designed to be discreetly hidden within the hair line or along skin’s natural creases and folds. Underlying neck muscles are then tighten and excess fatty deposits are extracted via liposuction or direct excision, sculpting a firm, smooth neck contour. Procedure length depends on the extent of correction that is needed and usually takes about two hours. At the completion of your surgery your neck will be wrapped in a soft compression bandage. You will be scheduled for a follow-up appointment. Draining tubes are often used under the skin, and are removed during your first follow up visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Some patients may not require a surgical Neck Lift and may be able to tighten the skin of the throat and neck region by means of non-surgical treatments such as microneeding FR, ThermiTight, Ultherapy, FaceTite and other skin tightening treatments that don’t require surgery.
The surgical Neck Lift procedure produces permanent results that non-surgical skin tightening procedures may not be able to emulate. While skin-tightening treatments may provide a great alternative to surgery, they may require repeat follow-up treatments in order to maintain results, and they may not always produce the same results as surgery. In some cases, when the skin is extremely lax and there is little to no elasticity remaining, a surgical Neck Lift may be the only way to truly tighten the skin in the neck and throat region.
A neck lift is ideally suited for any healthy adult male or female who wants to eliminate sagging skin and wrinkles in the lower face, chin, neck, and throat region. Once you schedule an introductory consultation appointment with Dr. Bachilo, you will be on your way to determining whether a neck lift is right for you or whether you may be able to address your concerns by means of another, non-surgical solution.
Yes. A Neck Lift will tighten the skin around the lower face, including the jowls and the submental fat that causes the “double chin,” producing a more sculpted profile.
The price of your surgical procedure will depend on the extent of treatment, whether the Neck Lift includes Liposuction, and whether you are combining the procedure with any other surgery or treatment. Typically, the cost of a complete Neck Lift may run between $7,000 and $10,000.
Yes. This is one of the most common complaints among patients who choose to undergo a Neck Lift procedure. The Neck Lift successfully tightens the vertical bands in the neck cause sagging and produce that “turkey wattle” effect that so many of us want to avoid and correct.
The Neck Lift is a relatively safe and simple surgical procedure, and is less complicated than a Facelift. The Neck Lift is typically performed under general anesthesia, and through small incisions that may be easily camouflaged in the skin’s natural folds and creases beneath the chin. Through these incisions, Dr. Bachilo will very precisely lift and stretch the neck muscles and skin, extracting pockets of fatty tissue to produce smooth, tight contour in the chin, jaw, neck, and throat. In some cases, Dr. Bachilo may combine liposuction with the Neck Lift surgery in order to produce an even tighter, more defined contour.
The Neck Lift procedure is performed under general anesthesia, so you will feel nothing during the procedure itself. As with any surgery, some swelling and discomfort may occur after surgery, and these symptoms may be easily managed by over-the-counter pain medication, or Dr. Bachilo may prescribe a stronger pain medicine if you require it.
Yes. You can combine a Neck Lift with a Facelift, Brow Lift, Eyelid Lift, or other procedures such as lip or cheek implants. The Neck Lift may also be combined with non-surgical procedures such as dermal filler injections.
As with any surgical procedure, it’s best to plan ahead for your surgery and recovery. Plan to have somebody drive you home immediately after the surgery and help out around the house for several days so that you can rest and recover properly. Immediately after you come out of surgery, your neck will be bandaged in compression bandages that you must wear for several days in order to protect delicate tissue, control swelling and discomfort, and support the healing process. You will have to keep your head elevated and sleep in a sitting position propped up by pillows, in order to limit any movement of your neck for about two weeks. It may take up to three weeks before you can gradually begin to resume normal physical activities. The full results of your procedure will become visible after about four weeks, once all the swelling has subsided.
