What Is the Nefertiti Neck Lift Procedure?
Named after the famed Egyptian queen and developed by the Swiss dermatologist Dr. Phillip Levy, the Nefertiti Neck Lift uses Botulinum toxin type A, commonly known as Botox, to rejuvenate the appearance of the neck. By temporarily stopping nerve signals to the neck muscles (including the platysma muscle) and facial muscles, it can address neck bands, lines and wrinkles, a more defined jawline, and a more youthful appearance.
For decades, neurotoxins (Dysport, Daxxify, Xeomin) have been used to improve the appearance of facial skin in the forehead and upper facial area. By the early 2000s, botulinum toxin injections began to be considered as a potentially effective facial rejuvenation treatment for improving firmness and skin laxity in other areas, such as the neck and jawline.
While a Nefertiti neck lift can’t address loose skin, the non-surgical cosmetic procedure can significantly reduce signs of aging.
The Nefertiti Neck Lift is a cosmetic procedure tightens the skin of the neck, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and improves definition in the neck and jaw line by means of strategically placed Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin injections. Results typically last 3 – 4 months, and depending on the neurotoxin used, some patients may experience effects for longer than 6 months. In order to maintain the effects of the Nefertiti Neck Lift, ongoing follow-up treatments must be maintained.
