Dermal Filler Solutions for Eyes
The eyes are said to be the “windows to the soul” and are the facial feature most often mentioned in poetry and love songs. In fact, the eyes are often noted as being the point of focus of most people when they look at or speak to someone else. So it is essential for your eyes to convey the real you.
If your eyes look aged and tired, it’ll be hard for people to see you as energetic and enthusiastic. If your eyelids droop, or you have under-eye circles or hollows, people may think that you don’t sleep well or that you’re constantly under stress. Baggy wrinkles in the upper eyelids may not only impair your ability to see correctly, but they may also make you look exhausted continuously and too tired to pay proper attention. Puffiness and bags under the eyes may also make you look aged and exhausted.
Injectables, such as Juvederm Volbella, Belotero, and others, are dermal fillers that are particularly suited to treating the area around the eyes, imparting volume into hollowed-out areas, and smoothing the skin for a refreshed, clean appearance. Dermal fillers for use in the under-eye area may contain Hyaluronic acid or Calcium hydroxylapatite as a primary ingredient.
To ensure that you do not experience any discomfort during the procedure, Dr. Bachilo will apply a topical numbing agent to the treatment site as you prepare for the injections. Dr. Bachilo typically uses different types of dermal filler injections to add definition and volume to specific areas around the eye sockets to achieve the desired results. Dr. Bachilo can help you determine the best combination of treatments to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
While the procedure for injecting dermal fillers into the under-eye area is not especially painful, the treatment site may become red, sore, and/or swollen for a few hours following treatment. Dr. Bachilo recommends alleviating discomfort by applying ice packs to the treatment area and taking non-prescription pain medication such as Tylenol, beginning right after treatment. Also, avoid rubbing or excessively touching the area around the eyes over the course of several days following treatment.
You may be a good candidate for under-eye filler injections If you are an adult in generally good health and want to eliminate dark, puffy bags and circles under your eyes, fill in hollowed-out areas around the eye sockets or smooth out sagging skin underneath the eyes.
Under-eye fillers can rejuvenate the upper face by filling in dark, hollowed-out circles and bags that develop underneath the eyes as a result of the aging process, and may be exacerbated by having to stare into a computer screen for several hours every day. Depending on the products that Dr. Bachilo recommends for your treatment, you may see visible results immediately, but you may also see continued improvements over the course of the next several weeks as your skin begins to reap the benefits of the Hyaluronic Acid in the filler formulas!
While there is no recovery period required after a dermal filler treatment, you will be advised to limit your exposure to sunlight as well as extreme weather conditions and environmental pollutants for several days after treatment.
Depending on the type of fillers used, your results may last from 9 months to 1 year if HA-based fillers are used, or about 12-18 months if Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers are used.
