Benefits of Chemical Peels
Chemical peels provide a number of benefits to the skin. Peels effectively remove toxins from the skin’s pores, as well as dead skin cells from the skin’s surface, providing a deep cleansing treatment for the skin. Additionally, chemical peels deliver vital skin nutrients strategically formulated to treat specific skin conditions, as well as restoring smoothness, radiance, and firmness.
Chemical Peels Available at Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa
At Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa, we use a variety of chemical peels to treat different skin conditions and provide personalized treatments for each of our patients. Chemical peels are recommended for you based on your skin type and condition, as well as your unique concerns. We use only top-name products developed in the world’s most advanced and reputable skincare laboratories, such as SkinMedica®, VI® Peels, Epionce® , Glytone® , SkinBetter® , and ZO® Skin Care.
Epionce Refresh Lite Peel
The Epionce® Lite Refresh peel is a light, surface peel developed over twenty years of skin research and scientific observation of botanical ingredients that, when combined, naturally brighten, tone, and smoothen skin. The Refresh Lite peel treats the majority of common skin conditions such as acne, acne scars, sun spots, discoloration, rosacea, and sensitive skin. This gentle formula strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier while diminishing the visible signs of aging and restoring luminance to the skin.
Epionce Mal-E Peel
Designed with a pH of 2.7 this potent Alpha Hydroxy Acid peel removes surface dirt and impurities, treats problematic bacteria, encourages cell turnover and hydration and restores radiance to the skin. The Mal-E Peel banishes fine lines and wrinkles with malic acid, a common alpha hydroxy acid produced by fruit such as apples, that effectively lifts away dead skin cells that can dull the surface of the skin, producing a smoother texture, as well as a brighter tone in the skin.
Epionce Sal-E Peel
The Epionce Sal-e peel is a lipophilic salicylic acid formulation that binds to oil in the skin, clearing congestion of the pores and encouraging the turnover of cells, leaving the skin clear and renewed. The synergistic combination of salicylic acid and natural willow bark extract clear away blemishes and reduce inflammation, leaving the skin smooth, supple, and radiant.
Skinbetter AlphaRet Peel
The Skinbetter AlphaRet Professional Peel is part of a 3-step system that improves overall skin tone and texture and treats such conditions as mild photodamage, blemishes, and early signs of aging such as surface lines and wrinkles. This peel perfectly complements the Skinbetter regimen of at-home skincare products. Dr. Bachilo recommends Skinbetter products to her patients with sensitive skin, since all Skinbetter science products are dermatologist tested, cruelty-free, and contain no parabens, dyes, or fragrances.
Glytone Pyruvic Peel
The Glytone Pyruvic Acid Peel is a revitalizing peel that is ideal for acne-prone skin while also diminishing the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and photodamage, along with other premature signs of aging. It also encourages cell turnover, tightens pores, brightens the skin, and enhances skin clarity, while clearing away minor surface flaws and imperfections.
Glycolic Peels
Glycolic peels are the mildest, most superficial chemical peels. Glycolic peels provide gentle exfoliation of the skin’s outermost layer to cleanse, detoxify, and awaken a new layer of fresh, healthy skin cells. These gentle peels are effective for treating minor skin problems, such as fine lines, as well as hydrating thirsty skin and restoring a luminous glow. Glycolic peels take about 15 minutes to apply and provide immediately noticeable improvements. These peels are great for ongoing regular use to keep your skin bright and healthy.
Salicylic Acid Peels
Salicylic Acid peels are similar to Glycolic acid peels and provide a gentle exfoliation of the skin, removing surface impurities and imperfections. Salicylic acid peels are effective for treating mild discoloration and sunspots, freckles, blemishes, and acne scars. You may choose from the SkinMedica® line of Salicylic Acid Peels, including Illuminize®, Rejuvenize®, and Vitalize®, depending on your specific skin condition.
Trichloroacetic Acid Peels
TCA peels are effective for treating lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone, age and sun spots, acne blemishes and scars, and are useful for treating enlarged pores and even removing pre-cancerous skin lesions.
VI Peel®
VI Peel® provides a variety of formulas to treat aging skin, more advanced aging skin, acneic skin, acne scars, age spots, hyper-pigmentation, and surface skin damage. Developed by one of the world’s leading cosmetic scientists, VI Peels are among the most respected skincare treatments in the field.
Phenol and Croton Oil Peel
Phenol and croton oil peels are deep chemical peels, performed under mild anesthesia, which represent the gold standard in chemical skin rejuvenation. These peels remove wrinkles, age, and sunspots, restore an even tone to sun-damaged skin and improve mild scarring while triggering the production of collagen to help heal and nourish the skin. Deep peels may produce as much as25-30 % tightening of the facial skin as a consequence of collagen production. These deeper peels may take as long as 8-14 days to completely peel away damaged skin and reveal a new layer of smooth, clear skin
ZO® Controlled Depth Peel
The ZO® Skin Health Controlled Depth Peel is known as the Non-Surgical Facelift Chemical Peel. An intensive Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) peel, the ZO® Controlled Depth Peel rejuvenates and improves skin conditions such as irregular pigmentation, lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and enlarged pores while boosting hydration and improving elasticity through increased collagen production.
What to Expect After a Chemical Peel
Deeper chemical peels typically work by causing your outermost layer of skin to peel off, as it does following a sunburn. This peels away toxins, impurities, and surface imperfections from the skin’s surface, producing clearer, smoother, and firmer skin. The act of peeling also activates the increased production of collagen, a natural substance known to nourish and hydrate skin cells, making your skin look healthier and smoother. For optimal results, please resist the temptation to touch or pull on the skin while peeling, and allow the process to happen gradually. You must also use an effective sunscreen following a chemical peel to protect the new skin from sun damage. Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa is located 36 minutes from Katy and 27 minutes from Pasadena.
