Venus Viva® treatments are safe and effective for all skin types and require very little healing and downtime.  Treatment sessions are quick, and may address several skin conditions at once.  With the Venus Viva®, you will require significantly less downtime than with ablative laser skin resurfacing treatments, and the procedure is also much more comfortable.

While the Venus Viva® treatment may be somewhat irritating, it is not actually painful. We will be happy to apply a topical numbing cream to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the size of the treatment area, the resurfacing procedure may take from 20 to 45 minutes.

The treatment produces the sensation of miniscule skin perforations followed by a slight zapping, and then a warm stinging sensation similar to sunburn. Your skin will be flushed and tender after the treatment.  Since every patient’s skin type and condition is unique, some patients may achieve their aesthetic goals after three to four treatments, while others may require more treatment sessions to achieve a more dramatic improvement.

Your skin will probably be red, puffy, and sore for about a day following treatment, and in some cases the outer layer of skin may flake and peel for several days, much like it would after a sunburn. You may resume your usual skin care and makeup routine after 24 hours, but avoid sun exposure while your skin is healing. After any skin resurfacing treatment, always use an effective sunscreen product every time you go outdoors.
