Pectoral augmentation is a surgical cosmetic procedure that enhances the size and tone of the pectoral muscles, giving your chest the contour and definition that you desire by means of silicone chest implants that look and feel like natural muscles. Pectoral implants are inserted via tiny hairline incisions located around your nipple or in your armpit. These tiny incisions allow the surgeon to create a pocket or sheath for the implant in between the fascia and muscle tissue. The implants are secured in that pocket, underneath the skin and connective tissue of your chest, and on top of your natural chest muscles, using self-dissolving stitches. Each implant provides increased size, tone, and definition in your pectoral muscles.

You may be instructed to wear a compression garment to optimize healing and help your body adjust to its new contour. Most patients are able to resume light exercise after two to seven days, and you may return to your normal physical activities in about four to six weeks.
