During your intake interview, Dr. Bachilo will ask key questions about your medical background, your history of cosmetic procedures and injectable treatments, and what drugs or medication you are taking. You will be advised to quit smoking and drinking in preparation for your surgery, and you may also need to suspend certain blood-thinning medications in preparation for the procedure.

Brow lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia, and the surgery may be performed using the traditional surgical method or the newer endoscopic method, which is less invasive. In either case, the procedure will require a tiny incision, through which Dr. Bachilo will lift and tighten the skin and muscles of the forehead, eliminate excess fat, and trim away excess skin. In many cases, the eyebrows may be pulled to a higher position on the face, which makes the face appear younger.

Patients often choose to combine a brow lift procedure with another surgical procedure, such as an eyelid lift to tighten sagging skin around the eyes, or a neck lift to tighten the skin of the lower face and neck. You may choose to enhance the mid-face region with cheek implants, or enhance definition in your chin with a chin implant. No. A brow lift will lift and tighten sagging skin in the eyebrows and forehead, but in order to tighten the skin around the eyes themselves, you will need a blepharoplasty or eyelid lift. Both procedures may be combined in a single surgical session.

Yes. Many of our patients are concerned about thick, deep folds or furrows that form in the center of the eyebrows, at the top of the bridge of the nose. This is one of the many concerns that a brow lift can easily correct.

As with any surgical procedure, you should prepare in advance by planning to have someone drive you home after the surgery, and help out around the house while you recover. Following the procedure, moderate swelling, numbness, and soreness around the incision site is normal, and swelling may extend into the area of the eyes, nose and cheeks, but these symptoms naturally resolve themselves within a week or so. You will have to keep your head elevated in a vertical position for the first 48 hours, so plan to sleep in a sitting position propped up by pillows. In rare cases, patients may experience temporary hair loss around the incision area, but normal hair growth will resume within a few weeks. Patients who are candidates for the endoscopic brow lift will typically experience less swelling and discomfort, and often heal more quickly than those who undergo the traditional procedure.

No. A brow lift is performed in such a way that the hairline incisions are hidden within the natural hair line or it may be hidden in the hair like just above the eyebrow, so they will be virtually invisible. Additionally, these scars fade gradually over time, becoming even less visible.
