The Procedure: What to Expect
The BTL Exilis® system is designed to deliver powerful heat energy to the deeper layers of fat beneath the surface of the skin, while keeping the surface layers cool to prevent surface skin injury. The system not only tightens skin but also shrinks and destroys fat cells, which your body’s lymphatic system will naturally eliminate over time.
While the procedure is painless, the skin may appear flushed in the treatment areas and may feel sensitive for about 20-30 minutes as a result of the heat delivered by the treatment. You may apply makeup immediately after this flush subsides, and the treatment requires no downtime, so you may resume your daily activities immediately after leaving our office.
In most cases, patients require between two and four treatment sessions scheduled one to two weeks apart. To maintain optimal results, maintenance treatments are recommended every 12 – 18 months.
