Thigh Implants in Houston, TX
Thin, bony thighs and excess skin can detract from an otherwise youthful and well-defined body image, making you look older than you are. Fortunately, this condition (often a result of significant weight loss, pregnancy, or weight fluctuations) can be corrected with a thigh augmentation procedure, which may include the use of custom implants to enhance the natural curve and fullness of the thighs. These implants are surgically placed by creating a pocket over the muscle, allowing for a smoother, more defined contour and helping to restore a natural-looking thigh shape, especially for those with muscle loss or deformities. Thigh augmentation can also enhance self-esteem, provide more clothing options, and improve comfort in fitted clothing.
A thorough review of your medical history is essential during the consultation to tailor the treatment plan and minimize risks.
It is important to maintain a stable weight after surgery to preserve your results. For recovery, a responsible adult should accompany you to the surgery center and remain with you for the first 24 to 48 hours.
While the thigh implant procedure may be performed either using custom implants or by means of a fat transfer or fat grafting procedure, a skilled board-certified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Olga Bachilo at Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa can help you select which cosmetic surgery is most suitable for you, depending on your condition and body type, as well as your aesthetic goals.
Candidates
Anyone whose thighs are thin, bony, undefined, sagging, or out of proportion with the rest of the body may benefit from a thigh augmentation procedure with thigh implants. Reconstructive patients who suffer from lack of muscle mass in the thighs due to health conditions, injuries, or prior surgeries also benefit greatly from thigh implants and thigh augmentation surgery.
Who Can Benefit from Thigh Implants?
Anyone whose thighs are thin, bony, undefined, sagging, or out of proportion with the rest of the body may benefit from a thigh augmentation procedure with thigh implants. Reconstructive patients who suffer from a lack of muscle mass in the thighs due to health conditions, injuries, or prior surgeries also benefit greatly from thigh implants and thigh augmentation surgery.
Procedure
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Depending on the area of the thigh to be enhanced, the small 3-centimeter incisions may be camouflaged either in the groin area or in the pit behind the knee. Through these incisions, the surgeon creates a pocket over the muscle tissue and inserts the implants into the pocket.
How Long Will I Need to Recover After Thigh Implant Surgery?
The normal recovery period is about one to two weeks, at which point most patients are able to return to work. You may need to refrain from more strenuous physical activity, such as running and climbing stairs, for a period of about six to eight weeks, and it may take as long as three to four months for all of the swelling from the procedure to thoroughly subside.
