In addition, an underdeveloped chin may detract from the balance and proper proportion of your facial features, making features such as the nose and eyes appear larger than they should while detracting from the appearance of the lips and lower face. Luckily, an underdeveloped chin may be easily corrected using dermal filler injections.

Several dermal filler gel formulas on the market are ideal for use as chin filler injections, particularly Hyaluronic Acid (HA)-based fillers such as Juvederm Voluma and Restylane Defyne. Because HA is a naturally occurring nutrient produced by our bodies, there is minimal risk of any adverse reaction with HA-based dermal filler injections. Other chin filler injections contain calcium hydroxylapatite to add firmness, volume, and definition to the chin.

How Is Chin Augmentation With Chin Fillers Performed?

Chin augmentation may be performed using dermal fillers exclusively or by combining dermal filler injections with chin implants. During your complimentary consultation with Dr. Bachilo, she will assess your condition and determine the best dermal filler or combination of dermal fillers to achieve your aesthetic goal successfully.

To reduce the possibility of any discomfort during the procedure, a topical numbing agent can be applied to prepare the treatment area so that you won’t feel the injections. In addition, Dr. Bachilo will typically use a combination of dermal filler injections to increase volume and definition in specific areas of the chin to sculpt the desired results. Dr. Bachilo can help you determine which variety of treatments is best suited to your needs based on your aesthetic goals, skin type, and other factors.

While the procedure is not particularly painful, you may experience temporary swelling, redness, and soreness in the treatment area for a few hours following treatment. You may alleviate any discomfort by applying ice packs to the treatment area and taking over-the-counter pain medication such as Tylenol. You must also avoid rubbing or handling the chin for several days and protect the nose from impact for several weeks.

Results

What Can Chin Fillers Accomplish?

Dermal filler injections, such as Juvederm, will immediately be visible after treatment, with final results seen within a week to two weeks. While you won’t have to worry about any downtime or recovery after a dermal injection treatment, you will be advised to avoid exposure to extreme sunlight as well as other environmental factors such as extreme weather, cigarette smoke, and other environmental pollutants. Depending on which products are used during your chin filler treatment, results could last as long as two years in the case of HA-based fillers and about 15 months if Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers are used.

Easy location right off 610 and free covered parking and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. When they offer a cappuccino during your visit, accept as it is stellar. With just one syringe of filler placed in multiple strategic spots, Dr. Bachilo made a dramatic improvement which reduced jowling and even minimized neck sag.
